Basingstoke Men’s 1s secured a 4-2 victory as they travelled up to face a youthful University of Oxford Men’s 2s. Two goals from Player of the Match Liam Harrison and Graham Garrett-Lang ensured the win for Basingstoke.

Basingstoke Ladies 1s had a friendly against Bromley & Beckenham Ladies 1s, who sit in the respective Conference East National League. Basingstoke were able to score through Fiona Parker, however the game finished 1-2.

Basingstoke Ladies 2s faced Salisbury Ladies 1s at home this week. Two early goals through penalty corners for Salisbury put them 2-0 up after 10 mins. However, Basingstoke played the ball around well to get into the Salisbury D and were able to convert through Jude Bird to make it 1-2.

Salisbury continued to show their strength and a deflected goal put them 3-1 up at half time. The second half was a stronger display for Basingstoke, however after a break away from play, Salisbury were able to convert another and finish the game 1-4.

Basingstoke Men’s 2s secured their second win of the season against Portsmouth Men’s 1s. Goals from Lucas Chambers and Dan Holding clinched a vital 3 points for the men.

Basingstoke Ladies 3s earned a point away against Salisbury 2s after a late equaliser from Georgie Creese. Basingstoke Men’s 3s lost 0-1 to Southampton University Men’s 3s.

Basingstoke Ladies 4s suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat against Blandford & Sturminster Newton, with goal for Bev Mackay and Amy Rowe. Basingstoke Men’s 4s had a friendly against Aldershot & Farnham Men’s 4s, which ended 0-7.

Basingstoke Ladies 5s lost 1-2 away against Isle of Wight Ladies 2s, with a goal from Kirsten Hazelwood. Basingstoke Men’s 5s had a strong win against Gosport 1989 with a 4-2 win. Goals for Toby Osborne, Nick Dudman, Steve Harmer and Will Hazelwood.

Basingstoke Ladies 6s earned a fantastic 7-0 win against IBM Nomads, with debut ladies’ appearances for 4 players. Debutant Heidi Lloyd scored 5 goals, with 2 further goals for Mitch Lloyd. Player of the Match also went to debutant Cara Wake. Basingstoke Men’s 6s lost 1-3 to Chichester despite a goal from Archie Youngs.

Next week the league continues with a host of home fixtures. Basingstoke Men’s 1s are at home to Reading 2As at 1 30pm, alongside two interclub league battles for the Ladies 3s & 4s and Men’s 5s & 6s. Basingstoke Ladies 1s also have a friendly at home against Horsham as they continue to prepare for their season to restart on the 5th February, with pushback to be confirmed.
