The Basingstoke Bison have a big weekend coming up as they look to climb up the standings, writes Graham Merry.
Victories over leaders Telford and away at Leeds has moved the Herd up to sixth spot, level on points with fifth placed Peterborough Phantoms.
These sides clash in Cambridgeshire on Sunday (5.30pm), but before that the Bison have a home clash with their arch rivals the Bees on Saturday night (6.30pm).
They are currently bottom of the table, but Bison player/coach Ashley Tait is taking nothing for granted and said: “Games against the Bees are always good and the form book goes out the window being a derby game.”
Talking about Sunday’s game Tait said: “Peterborough is a tough place to go, but we match up well against them and it is always a battle.”
The Herd are hoping to welcome back from injury defenceman Ollie Stone and forward Ryan Sutton this weekend.
On Sunday night in Basingstoke (6.30pm), the Buffalo host Chelmsford.
