- A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Basingstoke man who failed to comply with his prison release requirements.
On January 6, 2022, Ian Christopher George, of Park Prewett Road, “failed to behave in an acceptable manner”.
A warrant was issued for the 52-year-old’s arrest by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on January 7.
- A BASINGSTOKE man has appeared in court after assaulting two women in the town last year.
Maciej Adam Kaminski, of Armstrong Road, assaulted the women by beating them on March 11, 2021.
He pleaded guilty in May, and appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2022.
The case was adjourned for sentencing on January 12, so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared.
The 46-year-old is prohibited from entering certain areas of Popley.
He is also banned from having any contact with the victims, except when necessary as part of court proceedings.
- A NEWNHAM man has been handed a community order after drug driving at a Basingstoke petrol station.
Ben Ross, of Crown Lane, Newnham, admitted to drug driving a motor vehicle at the Texaco forecourt on Aldermaston Road South on January 1, 2021.
Ross was driving at the location with more than 7 ug/l of THC – a cannabis compound – in his system.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on January 10, the 43-year-old was handed a community order.
It means over the next 12 months he must attend court appointments and complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay a surcharge of £95.
- A BASINGSTOKE man has been ordered to pay nearly £700 after drug driving in Popley.
Martin Patrick Flanagan, of Western Way, drove along Popley Way on December 3, 2020, with 7 microgrammes of THC – a cannabis compound – per litre of blood in his system.
The 52-year-old initially denied the charge.
However, appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on January 10, he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
He was handed a £300 fine by magistrates.
He must also pay £360 in costs and a surcharge of £34, making a total of £694.
Flanagan was also disqualified from holding a driving license for 12 months.
- A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a community order after assaulting a woman in March last year.
Jacek Kaminski, of Hanmore Road, assaulted the woman by beating her on March 19, 2021.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on January 10, 2022, the 44-year-old was given a community order.
It means he must complete 15 rehabilitation activity days.
He must also pay a surcharge of £95 and costs of £150.
- A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Basingstoke man accused of causing harm to a dog.
Mark Daniels, of Mullins Close, allegedly failed to seek veterinary care for the arthritic condition of a German Shepherd dog named Beauty, between April 7 and May 7, 2021.
The charge, put forward on behalf of informant animal charity Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), states that the 46-year-old “knew or ought reasonably to have known that failure to act would have that effect”.
At Basingstoke Magistrates Court on January 11, a warrant was issued for Mr Daniel’s arrest.
