A DEVELOPER has submitted a planning application to build up to 140 new homes in Bramley.
Wates Developments is planning to build the houses on land at Stocks Farm on The Street in Bramley.
Out of the 140 new houses, 56 will be affordable houses, the developer has revealed.
According to the Wates team, a recent community consultation has helped to refine and shape the proposals ahead of submission to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

They have agreed to include a local shop within the community building, in addition to promising 58 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions by providing 320 PV panels and air source heat pumps in all units within the scheme.
A spokesperson for the Wates Developments said: “In response to the Climate Change Emergency the proposals will also include rainwater harvesting, electric vehicle charging points and an electric car club in partnership with Enterprise.
“The development will also provide walkable and cyclable routes to the existing services Bramley has to offer along with travel vouchers to encourage residents to use sustainable modes of transport.”
According to the planning application, 76 per cent of the 52-acre site will become new public open space, and will see extensive walking routes created. The plan also proposes a trim trail, a 2km Junior Park Run route along with facilities outlined in the Bramley Neighbourhood Plan, including a new skate park and land for a bowling green.
Holly Gardiner, senior land and planning manager for Wates Developments, said: “Following the community consultation on our initial proposals we are pleased to now submit our planning application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
"The scheme offers extensive public open space and community benefits that have been outlined in the Bramley Neighbourhood Plan. I would like to thank members of the community who shared their feedback with us. It is so important to listen and take onboard key priorities from the communities in which we work to ensure our proposals meet current and future needs locally.”
