Community order for 27-year-old man
A BASINGSTOKE man must carry out unpaid work after he failed to comply with the requirements of a community order.
Lee Matthew Chapman, 27 and of Elizabeth Road, did not turn up for unpaid work on two occasions in December as part of a community order made in October.
Magistrates imposed five further hours of unpaid work for the breach, which means he must complete 44 hours in the next 12 months.
80 hours of unpaid work
MAGISTRATES have ordered a 21-year-old man to carry out 80 hours unpaid work after he was caught with a red handled kitchen knife in a public place.
Adie Scott Ali Spencer, of Ascension Close, Basingstoke, was found with the knife in Jefferson Road on June 9, last year.
He also failed without reasonable cause to surrender at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on August 11, having been released on bail.
Spencer must also complete 35 rehabilitation days, pay a £95 victim surcharge and £20 court costs.
25-year-old punished for harassing another woman
A 25-YEAR-old woman has been made subject of a community order after she pleaded guilty to harassing a woman and assaulting emergency workers.
Milena Danansan, of Scotney Road, Basingstoke, admitted to harassing a woman between February 1 and June 20 last year by repeatedly calling the victim and attending her address. On June 1 and June 19, she also assaulted three police officers.
During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court she also admitted to breaching a community order made after she was convicted of two drug driving offences which took place on December 12, 2020.
Magistrates ordered Danansan to complete 20 rehabilitation days and complete 100 hours unpaid work in the next 12 months.
She must also pay a £95 victim surcharge, £85 court costs, and £50 compensation to each of the police officers.
A restraining order was imposed preventing her from contacting her victim until January 23, 2023.
Disqualified for drink driving
A BASINGSTOKE man has been disqualified after he was caught drink driving.
Tommy Flood, 21 and of Wootton St Lawrence, was driving a black Ford Fiesta on Festival Way on January 8 when he was found to have 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court he pleaded guilty to the offence and was disqualified for three months. He was also fined £246 and must pay £85 court costs and £34 victim surcharge.
Case sent to Crown Court
THE case of two Basingstoke men accused of unlawfully and inflicting grievous bodily harm on a person has been sent to Winchester Crown Court.
It is alleged that Paul Patrusel, 27 and of Russel Road, and Ilias Zimcea, 22 and of Jersey Close, injured a person on February 14, last year, in Basingstoke.
They will both appear at crown court on February 23.
Drug driver disqualified for 12 months
A DRUG driver who was caught with a quantity of cannabis has been disqualified for 12 months.
Darren Clift, 25 and of St Lukes Close, Basingstoke, was stopped while driving a Ford Fiesta on Brahms Road on August 14, last year. He had 4.6 micrograms of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per litre of blood – the legal limit is two.
He was also found with a quantity of cannabis. He pleaded guilty to both offences.
Magistrates in Basingstoke fined him £472. He must also pay £85 court costs and a £47 victim surcharge.
Fine for failing to turn up for unpaid work
A BASINGSTOKE man has been fined after he admitted to failing to turn up for unpaid work.
Matthew James Knight, Greenbirch Close, failed to attend unpaid work on two occasions in December as part of a community order made in February last year.
The 32-year-old admitted the breach during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates ordered for the unpaid work requirement to continue but fined Knight £100. He must also pay £85 court costs.
