A GROUP of anti-vaccination activists are protesting outside a hospital in Basingstoke, voicing their concerns about Covid jabs and experimental medicines.
About 25 protesters are holding placards and standing on both sides of the Aldermaston Road just outside the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
One of the Gazette readers, who passed through the protest, said the anti-vaxxers are asking drivers to honk if in agreement to their protest.
“They are on both sides of the road on the approach to the main entrance of the hospital,” the reader said.
The protest comes at a time when Covid infections are among the highest rate in the country.
According to the figures released yesterday, there are now only 14 local authority areas that have worse rates than Basingstoke and Deane.
The most recent comparable data available shows that the average rate per 100,000 people has increased from 1561.7 in the week to January 24 to 1590.9 in the seven days to January 31, according to the Press Association, the national news agency monitoring these figures.
