MASON Wilson collected the Plate trophy in Swindon before embarking on his adventure in the world junior championship.
Despite defeating eventual runner-up Simon Bubb (Ealing Common) 2-1, the 17-year-old from Basingstoke didn’t qualify for the knockout in the fourth leg of the Cuestars Under-21 Silver Tour at Jesters Snooker Club.
He then beat Jaydon Elliott (Swindon) in the final of the competition for non-qualifiers.
The following day, Wilson travelled up to Sheffield for the World Snooker Federation Junior Championship.
He qualified from his round-robin group but lost 3-0 to Michael Roberts (Liverpool) in the first knockout round.
The event was sponsored by trophy supplier Don Rogers Sports and Swindon-based window cleaners Clean Cut.
Fareham Snooker Club hosts the fifth leg of eight on Sunday, March 20.

Prelim: Mason Wilson (Academy, Basingstoke) beat William Thomson (Chandlers Ford SC).
Semi-finals: Wilson beat Samuel Walter (Mayfair, Gosport), Jaydon Elliott (147, Swindon) beat Harry Wyatt (Greenbaize, Bournemouth).
Final: Wilson beat Elliott.
