HEALTH and wellbeing has been in the spotlight during the pandemic, with many of us looking at how we can make our lives healthier.

Much of that has come with the help of others, and now you have the opportunity to put them forward to be recognised.

The Health and Wellbeing category has returned for this year’s A Place to be Proud of Awards.

This award category is for individuals or organisations involved in keeping the borough healthy and for people and places dedicated to caring for people in our community. This could include mental health support groups, health and fitness initiatives, and special support set up during Covid-19 for example.

The category is sponsored by Basingstoke-based Lilly UK.

Last year’s award was won by the Basingstoke Covid-19 Vaccination Centres with judges saying: “The centres are staffed by an incredible army of volunteers who have made a massive difference to the health of the community. Everyone involved is a truly deserving winner.”

Louisa Stevenson, communications and government affairs director at Lilly UK, said: “Health and wellbeing has been in the spotlight over the past two years, and at Lilly we are passionate about helping people live healthier lives. We’re proud to be supporting the awards and recognising those who dedicate their time to caring for and improving the health of our community.”
