GETTING an ice cream during the interval at the theatre is a staple and now when you see a show in Basingstoke it will be from a local company.
Anvil Arts has announced new association with Hampshire ice cream company Jude’s, based in Twyford, near Winchester. Jude’s is the only carbon negative ice cream manufacturer in the UK.
David Izzo, operations and audience experience manager at Anvil Arts, said: “We are very excited to offer Jude’s ice creams at The Anvil and The Haymarket. Not only do they taste delicious, but Jude’s ethos is very much in line with Anvil Arts’ environmental goals.”

David added: “We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and throughout our operations we are becoming a more sustainable organisation. Jude’s is a great fit with our plans.”
Chow Mezger, managing director and Jude’s son, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Anvil Arts as part of their local menu. As Britain’s first carbon negative ice cream company we’re keen to work with partners that share our commitment to sustainability.
“At Jude’s we create ridiculously indulgent products, with the lowest possible carbon footprint and then remove 110 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere.”
Anvil Arts’ foyer bars are stocked with local produce from producers all based within 50 miles of The Anvil, including local gins, crisps, coffee and sparkling wine.
