Basingstoke Ladies 1s faced claimed a point with a 2-2 draw against Cheltenham Ladies 1s at home this week. Catriona Bausor and Fiona Parker scored for Basingstoke, sponsored by K J Smith Solicitors.
Next week, the Ladies travel to face top of the table Witney.
Basingstoke Men’s 1s had a close encounter with top of the table competitors Oxford Hawks Men’s 2s. A drag flick from Graham Garret-Lang was the only goal for Basingstoke, with the game ending 1-1.
Basingstoke sit in third place in the league currently, with a game in hand over second placed Witney.
Basingstoke Ladies 2s travelled to face old rivals Portsmouth Ladies 1s. Basingstoke dominated the first half and were able to convert their pressure through Madeline Saunders to make it 1-0 at half time. Portsmouth came out strong in the second half and prevented Basingstoke playing their game. This helped Portsmouth to score two goals and take the three points as the game ended 1-2.
Basingstoke Men’s 2s secured another vital win against Southampton Uni Men’s 1s. Goals from player of the match Lucas Chambers and Phil Stewart secured a 2-0 win to help the team in their relegation battle.
Basingstoke Ladies 3s scored five goals to beat Blandford Ladies 1s 5-1, with two from Emilia Fern, alongside goals from Ulrike Maier, Sarah Shearing and Ellie Youngs. Basingstoke Men’s 3s lost 2-3 away against Trojans Men’s 4s, the goals from John-Paul Vout and player of the match Dylan Brockbank.
Basingstoke Ladies 4s beat Trojan’s Ladies 4s with goal from Nicola Burridge and Amy Rowe. Basingstoke Men’s 4s beat US Portsmouth Men’s 2s 2-1 with goals from Dominic Ripton-Palmer and Calum Saint.
Basingstoke Ladies 5s drew 2-2 against Chichester Ladies 4s, with two goals from player of the match Sophie Tamlin. Basingstoke Men’s 5s also secured another three points this week with a 3-1 win against Chichester Men’s 5s.
At home next week, both Men’s and Ladies 2s are in action from 11 45am, alongside the Men’s 3s & 6s, Ladies 4s and Ladies 6s. On the road, Basingstoke Ladies 1s travel to Witney and Basingstoke Men’s 1s face local side South Berkshire.
