A LONG-DISTANCE runner from Hook has been selected again to represent Great Britain in an international athletic championship.
Charlotte Purdue, who has represented the country at the World Athletic Championships in 2017 and 2019, has now been selected against to participate in marathon at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon this year.

Sharing the news on Twitter, Purdue said she is excited and is hoping to improve on her 13th place from 2017 Championship in London.

The 30-year-old was forced to withdraw from the marathon in Doha in 2019 because of extreme temperature.
In 2021, she was placed tenth at the London marathon, beating her time from 2019.

However, she missed out on Team GB selection for the Tokyo Games after an injury ruled her out of the Olympic trials in Kew Gardens in March.
