CHIEF Scout award holders have been given their awards by the Basingstoke and Deane mayor.
Silver, gold, and diamond Chief Scout award holders from the Basingstoke West Scout District received their awards on March 8 at the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offices.
The ceremony was hosted by the mayor, Cllr Onnalee Cubitt, and her consort Hugo and was attended by the district president, Lady Louisa Portal, and district commissioner, Josh Hensman.

Twenty-four Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts from groups at Overton, Oakley, Hatch Warren, Brighton Hill, Rooksdown, Worting, South Ham and Tadley received the award.
This event was the 20th such occasion held since these presentations were first initiated in 2004 and in that time several hundred youngsters have had the opportunity to meet the mayor.

Anna Soccard of the Gladiator Explorer Unit from Tadley was presented with her Diamond Chief Scout award certificate, a special achievement.
