A TADLEY resident has had her charitable work praised and she received a prestigious award.
Loddon Valley Lions, serving Tadley and the surrounding villages, joined with the other Lions Clubs at their annual Convention.
The keynote speaker at the Convention was Dr Liz Jackson, MBE from Baughurst in Tadley.

Despite losing her sight completely at the age of 26, Liz set up her own very successful business and in 2007, was awarded the MBE for her contribution to the world of business.
Liz then captivated the Convention attendees by talking about the work of the Snowdrop Foundation based in Kingsclere.
Liz’s tremendous charitable contribution to the community, through the Snowdrop Foundation was well commended and she was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship.

The award is named after Melvin Jones, who had founded The International Association of Lions Clubs, now better known as Lions Clubs International in 1917, although Lions Clubs did not appear in the UK until 1950.
