A YOUNG football team from Basingstoke is raising money for the people affected by war in Ukraine by organising a sponsored run.
Basingstoke Town Colts Under 11s Dragon team will run the route between the houses of all the players around the Basingstoke area with the finishing point at the War Memorial park.
A fundraising page, created by the coach Paul Saunders has already raised just more than £550, but the team is still looking to collect as much money as possible for the refugees.

The coach said all proceeds will go directly to the International Red Cross to assist them in their humanitarian mission in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries.
The sponsored run will be held on March 26.
Paul said: “We plan to start around noon on March 26 from Old Basing. The run will be a relay format where each team member hands over to the next as they go from house to house.
“The whole course is 14 miles and I am expecting them to be able to complete this in 3 hours; with some gentle nudging from the coaches. I will be tracking their progress on my bike and the other coach Garry is planning to run the whole 14 miles with the boys. Some of the parents are also going to join part of the race and the big finish at the end.”
