A BASINGSTOKE woman who was caught speeding in Stafford has been fined hundreds of pounds.
Leanne McDonald, of Worting Road, was driving on the M6 northbound when she was caught travelling above the speed limit of 70mph. Court records did not indicate at what speed she was driving.
During a hearing at Cannock Magistrates’ Court a guilty plea was entered, and the case was dealt with via single justice procedure – where a magistrate judges the case on the basis of the papers alone without either party having to attend court for a hearing.
Magistrates fined McDonald £692 and she had her licence endorsed with six points. She must also pay £90 court costs and a £69 victim surcharge.
