A GOOD neighbour can make where you live so much more special and now it’s your chance to recognise them.
The Place to be Proud of Awards is bringing back its Good Neighbour Award for 2021.
This category is for an individual who has made a difference in their neighbourhood, a person who has gone above and beyond to make life easier for and help their fellow neighbours, perhaps at a time of crisis.

Last year the accolade was one by Marilyn and Rodney Scott of The Evergreen Group for the support they have provided to people in Oakley.
This year the award is sponsored by Manydown Basingstoke.
Rebecca Smith, communications, communities and partnership at Manydown Basingstoke, said: “Our neighbours are a key part of all of our communities. Whether it’s celebrating our achievements, lending a helping hand or offering support in a time of need, neighbours make a place a home. Manydown Basingstoke is delighted to sponsor the Good Neighbour Award to recognise those who have gone the extra mile.”
The Place to be Proud of awards are organised by Destination Basingstoke in partnership with Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Basingstoke Voluntary Action, and the Gazette as media partners.
The awards recognise the contributions made by individuals, groups, organisations, places and initiatives that make our borough a diverse, vibrant community and a great place to live and do business. Individual categories are sponsored by locally-based businesses.
Nominations are free to enter and can be made online at www.destinationbasingstoke.co.uk.
