A MAN has been fined more than £300 for driving while disqualified in Hook.
On August 18, 2019, Mohammed Joynal Abedin of Handsworth in Birmingham, drove a Ford Galaxy on the A30 Hook Road, and London Road when he was disqualified from holding a driving licence.
The 43-year was also not insured to drive the vehicle.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 17 2022, Abedin admitted to both offences and was handed a £333 fine.
He must also pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £84 and was disqualified for a further six months.
A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a community order for harassing another man in Andover between April 20 and July 29 last year.
Appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 18, Eric Ryan Jones, of Western Way, admitted the offence, changing his previous not guilty plea.
He was given a tagged curfew between 8pm and 6am daily until April 17.
The 24-year-old must also pay £100 in compensation, a £95 surcharge and £250 in costs.
A BASINGSTOKE man has been sent to prison for 12 weeks for assaulting another man at Sainsbury's car park in Hatch Warren.
Matt Kaleb Donaldson, of Flaxfield Court, assaulted the victim by beating him on May 2 2020.
He pleaded not guilty in February last year, but a guilty verdict was proved in his absence on March 4, 2022.
On March 21 at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court he was was committed to prison for 12 weeks because the offence was “so serious” and because it was “aggravated” by previous offending.
The 29-year-old must also pay compensation of £250.
A BASINGSTOKE man will be sentenced next month after admitting to assaulting a woman in the town.
Adam Hunt, of Elizabeth Road, assaulted the victim by beating her on July 7, 2020.
He originally denied the offence, but changed his plea to guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 21.
The 23-year-old has been remanded on unconditional bail until April 19, for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
