A BAUGHURST resident has been fined nearly a thousand pounds for fly-tipping in Silchester.
Verdine Mohamed, of Heath End Road, dumped household waste at the site on Wall Lane on September 3 2021.
The 33-year-old pleaded guilty at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 22 and was handed a £984 fine.
They must also pay a surcharge of £98 and costs of £782.
A BASINGSTOKE man has been given a fine for being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Metin Durmush, of Butler Close, acted illegally while drunk at Holyrood Court on March 3.
He admitted the offence at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 22 and was handed a £120 fine and surcharge of £34.
The offence also took place while he was serving a suspended sentence for assaulting an emergency worker.
This sentence was amended and is now eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.
The 56-year-old must also complete a total of 12 rehabilitation activity days.
A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of an Oakley man who failed to comply with his community order.
Neil William Collins, of Glamis Close, failed to attend planned appointments following a community order issued by North Hampshire Magistrates’ Court on October 2 2020.
The 47-year-old is now subject to an arrest warrant, issue to NCES South West by the same court on March 23 2022.
A POPLEY man has been fined after he failed to comply with his community order.
Paul Bernard Johnson, of Maldive Road, failed to attend a planned telephone induction after being handed a community order by Surrey Magistrates’ Court on January 4 2022.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 23, the 44-year-old was fined £60 after admitting to the breach.
A BMW driver will stand trial this month accused of drug driving on the M3 northbound at Basingstoke.
Abdula Ali Al-diraa, of Sudbury Court Drive, London, is accused of having 5.7ug/L in his blood on June 2 2020. The legal limit is 2ug.
The 29-year-old pleaded not guilty and will stand trial at Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on April 13.
A BASINGSTOKE man will stand trial next month accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a German Shepherd dog.
Between April 7 and May 7 2021, Mark Daniel, of Mullins Close, allegedly failed to provide the animal, known as Beauty, with veterinary care for her arthritis.
The 46-year-old has been remanded on unconditional bail and will stand trial at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on May 17.
A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a suspended sentence after assaulting two men and an emergency worker in the town.
On March 21 2020, Lewis Daniel Hall of Bardwell Close assaulted Joshua Smith and Malcolm Smith by beating them.
He denied the charges but was found guilty on February 22 2022.
He also admitted to assaulting PC Kerry Lawrence while she was on duty on September 16 2020.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 30, the 35-year-old was handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, and must complete 20 rehabilitation activity days.
He must also pay total compensation of £600, surcharge of £122, and costs of £620, making a total of £1342.
A BASINGSTOKE man has been handed a community order after admitting to growing cannabis, as well as assaulting a man and threatening two others.
On July 5 2020, Steven M Ashmore of Meadowside Court assaulted Grant Crocker, causing him actual bodily harm.
On the same date, he used threatening or abusive language towards two other men, and was found to be involved in the production of six cannabis plants.
At Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 30, the 59-year-old pleaded guilty to all three offences and was handed a community order which requires him to complete 25 rehabilitation activity days.
An order was made for destruction of the drugs, and he must also pay £200 in compensation, £400 in costs and a £95 surcharge.
