Dear Editor,
So, the CGH partnership, says they will improve their waiting times. How much time do they need, and how did they get to this point? They took three perfectly adequate practices, and amalgamated them to obtain better funding. From the start you could not get through on the phone, we were told this was because of volume of calls. Eventually, they admitted this was a lie, and that the phone system was inadequate, Then, we were told the American firm Operose was ‘buying into’ the practice. But nothing much has changed; they are still offering a poor service.
It is not generally known, that GP practices are private businesses, funded by the NHS, run by the senior Partners, who split any excess funding. The funding of the Practices is complicated, but £152.04/patient is considered average. CGH has 42,000 patients, that’s just under £6.4million, no wonder the Americans have bought into the Practice.
For two years during the pandemic, patient care was non-existent, did they receive the same funding? If they did what happened to it?
