AN NHS worker from Basingstoke has beaten hundreds of applicants to secure chief Easter egg tasting role.
Dawn Hill, an NHS researcher and mother of two, beat hundreds of applicants to become one of the three winners who receive free Easter eggs in exchange for supplying feedback on Aldi’s range.
This information will inform Aldi’s buying team when they plan for the supermarket’s 2023 Easter range.

Dawn said: “I’m over the moon to have been chosen as Aldi’s Easter Egg Tasting Officer!
“I’m a big fan of chocolate in shapes and forms and will try my best to give honest reviews of the eggs.
“I can’t wait to get started with the tastings and look forward to sharing my thoughts with the Aldi team.”
The competition, which launched via Aldi’s social media on the March 7, called on participants from around the country to send in audition videos explaining why they should win the position of ‘Chief Egg Tasting Officer’, with three positions up for grabs.
To receive her role, Dawn submitted a video describing her judging and chocolate tasting abilities.
The three winners received free Aldi Easter Eggs in exchange for providing feedback on the range.
This year the range includes the award-winning Dairyfine Ice Cream Egg, Moser Roth Almond Egg, as well as Aldi’s Moser Roth Duo and Ripple Eggs.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “We always strive to make Aldi’s Easter egg selection bigger, better, and more innovative each year, but ultimately, it’s the opinion of our customers that we value most.
“We’re thrilled to recruit Dawn as one of our chief Easter egg tasting officers and can’t wait to hear her insights on the range.
“We aim to use Dawn’s feedback to make our 2023 range even better!”
Aldi’s 2022 Easter range include many old favourites, as well as new innovations such as slab eggs that can fit perfectly through a letter box.
Dawn will be joining Connor Ewujowoh, aged nine from Sunderland, and Hallie McIntosh, aged nine from Fife, in this year’s Easter egg tasting officer line up.
