FUN is on the cards for families in the borough this Easter with the reopening of popular Chineham Splash Pad and Eastrop Park paddling pool.

Both Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council owned facilities have been closed through the winter months, as normal, and will reopen for family fun today (15 April), just in time for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

During the winter closure, improvements have been made to Chineham Splash Pad, located at Chineham Park in Popley, including resurfacing. The splash pad will be open for families to enjoy from 10am to 7pm every day during the spring and summer months.

Rob Draper, the council’s interim head of environment and community services, said: “The splash pad and the paddling pool are two popular facilities for families in our parks and I am sure it will be good news to many that they are set to reopen at Easter for the spring and summer months.”

Residents are reminded there are no changing or toilet facilities at the park.

On top of this Eastrop Park paddling pool, situated in one of the council’s town centre Green Flag parks, will be open as usual during the day for children to cool off in the warmer weather.
