FESTIVAL Place is underlining its commitment to the Basingstoke community by announcing a three-year fundraising partnership with St Michael’s Hospice.
This follows on from a fantastic total of more than £37,500 already raised for the local hospice by fundraising initiatives held at the shopping centre over the last four years, including the annual hospice Moonwalk and the Happy Wrappy present wrapping service at Christmas.
The new partnership reiterates Festival Place’s commitment to the hospice, which provides care to people affected by life-limiting illness across Basingstoke and North Hampshire.

Neil Churchill, festival place centre director, said: “We take great pride in our place at the heart of the community, and we have been delighted to support our local hospice by making it our charity of the year for the last four years.
“Our employees and customers are passionate about supporting the hospice and we all want to spread the word about the vital work they do for people across our region.
“The last two years have proved very tough for charities, so it has never been more important to show our support for this incredible, hard-working team.
“Despite the challenges thrown up by the pandemic, we have still raised an incredible £37,543 for the hospice since 2018, and we feel now is the right time to take that support even further by entering into a full three-year partnership.
“Our visitors will see even more fundraising initiatives taking place here at Festival Place, as well as a pop-up hospice shop in the centre.
“It is a privilege to work with the hospice, and we look forward to a fruitful fundraising partnership over the next three years.”

She added: “We look forward to working on joint initiatives that give people the opportunity to get involved and support their local hospice.
“As a charity we rely on the generosity and kindness of our local community, and we would like to thank Festival Place for their continued support of St Michael’s Hospice.”
