A DEFIBRILLATOR has been installed at a pub in Old Basing, thanks to the generosity of local councils.
The potentially lifesaving equipment has been mounted on The Iron Bull Roadhouse on the A30 between Hatch and Hook.
The medical device was put in after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council who gave the funding to Newnham Parish Council.
Local residents and employees of local business have been shown how to use the defibrillator and how to administer CPR, but it is hoped that they never have to use it.
The location was chosen because there is a safe space for cars and buses to pull in off the road, and it is lit at night to make it easier to spot.
Publican Paul Ghent, local resident Linda Johnson, Old Basing and Upton Grey councillor Sven Godesen, mayor Cllr Onnalee Cubitt and Newnham Parish councillor Pauline Hedges gathered at the pub following the installation.
