A STREET artist from Basingstoke has been brightened up the town's street furniture with her wonderful designs.
Beautiful pictures of birds painted by Sian Storey have appeared on previously dull Openreach telecoms boxes.
Sian's paintings are part of a new creative project called Streets Alive, which aims to bring colour to the street furniture in the town centre.
Sian said: "Basingstoke's a blank canvas when it comes to urban art, and that's why Streets Alive is such an exciting project - it's injecting much-needed colour and creativity into the top of town.

"My paintings are inspired by the beautiful birds that can be spotted in and around Basingstoke. Reaction so far has been great - people are delighted to discover something different in their town."
The project started in March, and as well as decorated telecoms boxes, it includes new look benches and planters.
Sian is just one of the many talented artists involved.
There are also new pieces of art by Rachel Davis, Neil Jepson, Liam Kelleher, Corinne Marsh, Laura Messin, Joanne Morse, Kev Munday, Rachel O’Connell, Jacky Purtill, Willow the Wispa and artWell.
The trail also includes poems on benches written by Lydia Thomson, Rebecca Lyon and Josh Dixon and illustrated by Fatima Pantoja and Laura Fisher.

There is also a Heritage Trail available on TrailTale or you can pick up a printed version in many businesses in the top of the town.
The project was commissioned by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, and supported by The Welcome Back Fund, funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Her Majesty’s Government, and Arts Council England, with support from Basingstoke Heritage Society.
