A VIOLINIST from Basingstoke performed at the opening of an art exhibition in Canary Wharf in a bid to support Ukraine through art.
Oleksandra Galfe is a Ukrainian-British violinist and session musician who co-founded a string quartets group called Halo Strings.
They performed at the opening of an art exhibition on April 11.
Lydia Alonso (cello) and Simon Galfe (piano) created a great musical performance to accompany beautiful paintings of Ukrainian artists.
All of the money raised from the purchases of artwork will be given to charity.
Aleksandra's niece Darina managed to flee Chernihiv and now lives in Basingstoke.

Her paintings are about the Chernihiv cinema in the centre of city before and after it was bombed. She is a young aspiring artist who just started education in the prestigious Ukrainian University of Art in Kyiv and has been forced to flee.
