AN AUDI driver from Basingstoke has been handed a fine for driving in Dorset with more than twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
Darren Austin Leer, of Blackmoor Drive, was driving on Ashley Road in Poole, Dorset on April 1 after consuming alcohol.
The proportion in his breath was 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (April 20), the 39-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was handed a £150 fine, and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.
