A PARAPLEGIC racing driver from Basingstoke has made history by being part of the first ever all-disabled team to race in a British championship.
Aaron Morgan reaches the milestone achievement as he marks the mid-point of his life, having spent exactly 15.5 years walking and 15.5 years in a wheelchair.
The 31-year-old become paraplegic after breaking his back in a motocross accident when he was aged just 15.

He is a driver for all-disabled Team BRIT, which aims to become the first ever all-disabled team to race in the Le Mans 24 hour and supports people with physical and psychological challenges in accessing motorsport.
Aaron has had a long-term passion for motorsport and started racing motocross as a child.
He broke his back in an accident on one of his favourite circuits, yet soon returned to racing and was the youngest disabled person to ever achieve their National ‘B’ race licence. Having competed in the BMW Compact Cup, he joined Team BRIT in 2020 and is now one of the most experienced racers alongside his autistic teammate, Bobby Trundley.
On Monday, April 18, Aaron and Bobby raced in the first round of the British GT Championship held at Oulton Park. They are the first all-disabled team to ever compete in the series, and raced in the GT4 category against experienced teams, many racing with professional drivers.
Aaron said: “What an amazing weekend, with lots of lessons learned – including all about GT3 traffic management! I was really happy with my performance, getting faster and faster as the weekend went on with my best single lap being in qualifying.
"We finished 7th out of all the GT4 cars in race 2 which was a great achievement. Everyone in the team learned so much about the championship which we’re ready to take into round 2.”

After qualifying, the pair took part in two one-hour races. A tough battle ensued against both GT4 and GT3 classes. They finished in position 8 overall in the championship in the GT4 class. They were also one of two teams in the Pro-Am category so also took away P2 trophies, which will be treasured mementoes of this key moment in the team’s history.
Bobby and Aaron race again in round two at Silverstone on Sunday, May 8.
