POLICE seized an uninsured vehicle in Basingstoke last night after it 'drifted' on a roundabout during a 'large car gathering'.
Officers were monitoring the event, which was taking place around Basingstoke on Sunday evening (April 24).
Towards the end of the evening, they located a BMW vehicle "drifting around a roundabout".
Posting to Twitter, Hampshire police wrote: "The driver was uninsured and had a revoked driving license. Vehicle seized."
The car is pictured at Daneshill East Industrial Estate.
They added: "Whilst these posts are often met with comments supporting the car gatherings it is worth considering that we are responding to calls from the community and often the groups are using private land where they don’t have permission."
It comes after as car meets and "nuisance drivers" has been raised as a county-wide issue for the police force, leading to Hampshire Constabulary launching Operation Chromium to address community concerns.
