TWO pupils from Sherfield School have become the British Laser Run champions
Lily-Mae Lancaster Evans, 13, Travis Moore, 12, won the British Laser Run Championships at the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh last Saturday and have qualified to compete for Team GB at the World Laser Run Championships in Madeira later this year.
They have also qualified for the European Laser Run Championships in Athens this summer.
The talented pair are active athletes within the sport of Modern Pentathlon and are both also the current British Tetrathlon Champions within their age groups. For this discipline they have to compete in a swim, fence and laser-run.
Lily-Mae from Sherfield-on -Loddon also won a gold team medal with her club – Leweston Pentathlon Academy. She competes in the U15G category.
Meanwhile Travis is in the U13B and competes with WWMPC.
Both train regularly with Basingstoke and Mid Hants Athletic Club and Basingstoke Bluefins.
If that wasn’t keeping them busy enough, the pair have also qualified to compete at this year’s European Modern Biathle Championships which will see them complete a swim-run.
They will also be competing shortly to see if they can also represent GB at the European Triathle Championships which is a laser, shoot and swim format.
