A 'GET Into Teaching' seminar is being held in a school in Odiham.
The i2i Teaching Partnership is an alliance of Secondary Schools across Hampshire, Surrey, Middlesex, and Berkshire; the group is offering a school based initial teacher training programme for aspiring teachers.
The partnership is holding a ‘Get into Teaching’ information seminar at Robert May’s School in Odiham on Wednesday, May 18.
The seminar is free for any who would like to attend and will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am.
The seminar will help attendees gain a better understanding of the routes into becoming a teacher, including the application process and how to gain experience; the seminar will also cover the i2i Teaching Partnership.

A tour of Robert May’s School will also take place as part of the seminar, and the attendees will be able to witness classroom teaching in action.
The seminar is open to all members of the public, including those in other careers, university students and graduates, and those already working in schools.
A Level 6 Degree is required to train to teach.
Krissy Taylor, recruitment and marketing lead at i2i, said: “Our local area is home to many great schools.
“However, there are no great schools without great teachers, and no other profession is as important to the fate of the next generation, or as uniquely rewarding as teaching.
“The COVID pandemic has, without a doubt, raised the profile and importance of our teachers, and has created an opportunity for many to reflect upon and reassess their ‘purpose’.
“For those looking for a more rewarding career, a greater sense of purpose, and the opportunity to give something back to the community, teaching represents an attractive option.

“It offers lifelong learning, progression into leadership, daily challenges and rewards and a huge sense of achievement.”
The partnership has a training hub at Weydon School in Farnham, and, with the new partnership with Robert May’s School, is in a position to offer local teacher training opportunities.
The programme that i2i offers includes a year long training course, as well as further support for trainees throughout their career.
The programme is also highly flexible and can be adapted to meet the needs of participants.
