Sam Lockwood and Harry Robson hit centuries as Hook & Newnham Basics went on a 409-run spree before beating Shinfield, from the Berkshire, Chilterns & Mid-Bucks League, by 349 runs in a total ECB Royal London Cup national club championship preliminary round mismatch at the KGV
Lockwood helped himself to 169 (four sixes and 22 fours)- one short of his personal best for Sidcup in a Kent League Division 3 match in 2018 – and the left-handed Robson an unbeaten 112, writes Mike Vimpany
The pair added 253 for the second wicket before Josh Buckingham, (29) and Harry Warner (32) sent the KGV electronic scoreboard into over-heat at 409-4.
Having fetched the ball from the boundary 50 times – six maximums and 44 fours – Shinfield managed 60-9 in reply, Jack Murrell taking 3-16.
