MORE than 400 students from across Basingstoke and Deane took part in an event to inspire them about their future careers.
Get Inspired Basingstoke was held at the Apollo Hotel on May 4, organised by EBP (Education Business Partnership) South in partnership with Lenovo and supported by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The event, sponsored by Enterprise M3 and the British Computer Society Berkshire, aims to create awareness and inspire young people about the variety of career options in the area.
Students from Basingstoke schools had the chance to meet business professionals from a range of industries and learn from their first-hand experiences.
Activities were organised to inspire the students and provide interactive ways for them to learn about different career options, including a space coding challenge, edible geoarchaeology, building mini water networks and using VR headsets.
Teacher Kayleigh Richardson, who is head of Year 10 at Brighton Hill Community School, described the event as “fantastic”. She added: “Our students have left truly inspired. Meeting so many businesses has made today an absolute hit with our students.”
Paul Fearon, general manager at the Apollo Hotel said: “We are delighted to be hosting such a vibrant event yet again at the Apollo Hotel. There is wonderful energy throughout the whole venue with enthusiastic students engaging with a wide range of Basingstoke employers.
“It is vital that students are engaged and aware of the many wonderful careers available to them in our town and borough.”
