Students from The Clere School claimed bronze at the Liddington Netball Tour at PGL.
A team of 10 students - eight Year 11s and two Year 10s from The Clere school took part in a Netball Tournament at Liddington on Saturday, April 30.
The students came together not having played properly together since Year 8 due to Covid restrictions. But they really brought everything that they had to the tournament. The girls ended up making the semi-finals on the Sunday and claimed a bronze medal.
Not only did the students win a bronze medal they were recognised as the umpires’ Team of the Tournament for showing respect, determination, and fair play.
The girls were presented medals by the England Netball U21 Molly Hole.
The students also participated in activities such as zip wire, abseiling, archery and the giant swing.
Head of PE Corinne King said: “I am so proud of the students and the progress that they made over the weekend.
“The reason we attend the tournament is for students to play higher level teams and this weekend they really got to put their skills to the test against some brilliant teams. The students were an asset to the school and to me. I wish them every success in the future when taking part in try-outs for the college teams.”
