A MAJOR road in Chineham has been reopened in both directions after a crash caused severe delays near Whitmarsh Lane.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said their firefighters were called to a road transport incident on the A33 near Whitmarsh Lane at just before 3pm today (Tuesday, May 10).
One casualty was extricated from a vehicle by crews and handed into the care of ambulance team.
A33 was closed in both directions between Thornhill Crossroads and Gaiger Avenue for nearly two hours.
The closure caused severe delays in the area.
The roads adjacent to A33 were also experiencing severe delays.
According to Romanse, the travel updates account for Hampshire County Council, the roads have now been cleared in both directions.

Police and ambulance services have been contacted for more details about the crash.
