A HAMPSHIRE farm teamed up with a spirit company to plant trees and become part of its community.
Silchester Farm in Silchester opened its gates for a day of tree planting and gin and tonics.
In collaboration with Sapling Spirits, a London-based spirit company, and with the help of many volunteers, the team planted more than 1,000 native trees on the farm, in line with Sapling's promise of ‘for every bottle bought, one tree will also be planted’.
A spokesperson for the family-run farm said: "This great initiative supports Silchester Farm’s core values of Green Hospitality and Sustainability. The new trees will provide the farm with further foraging opportunities, enhancing our existing farm to fork menus and garden to glass refreshments."
Following the great success of this event, Silchester Farm has already initiated the planning of future tree planting days with local schools and wedding couples.
