The average price of a house in England has hit a new high last month, according to a report by property website Rightmove.
The new record is £360,101 – a figure that could be too high for the people who are struggling with the continuing inflation and financial crisis.
According to Rightmove, the price surged by £19,082 from February to April.
At least 53 per cent of the property in the country is selling at or above the asking price. This is also the highest rate, according to Rightmove.
But even when the prices soar, certain properties in the market are perfect for cash-strapped homebuyers.
Although they come with some cons, some of these cheap houses are worth every money you pay.
The cheapest house available in the radius of Basingstoke is a one-bedroom retirement property in South View, advertised by Barons Estate Agents.
Barons are listening to offers of £100,000 and above for this first-floor apartment situated in the popular Sylvaner Court.
The flat is being advertised as an over-55 retirement apartment.
The accommodation offers an entrance hall, bathroom, a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, lounge and kitchen area.
Barons said this apartment is host to a number of benefits which include a pleasant outlook and use of all of the communal facilities, including the laundry room, parking, residents lounge and landscaped gardens.
Sylvaner Court is situated within 0.25 mile of Basingstoke Town Centre.
The property that comes under Band C of council tax also has a ground rent of £240 per annum and a service charge of £138.04 per month.
