It is estimated Brits make around 358 million day trips to the countryside each year - and ‘no-fuss’ rural staycations are an increasingly sought out holiday option.
Now, sustainable living experts Bower Collective have created the Agritourism Index - revealing the best home-based destinations for this travel trend.
The index was produced after analysing the number of farm stays, farm shops, country shows, events and local walking routes in an area.
The data has been put together to map UK counties suitability for an authentic rural getaway.
Hampshire named among best 'agrotourism' destinations
Hampshire makes the top 10 - being named the UK's fourth best 'agrotourism' destination, joint with Cornwall.
The county is rated highly for walking, boasting one of the UK's richest selection of hiking trails, with 801 listed online.
Google searches in Hampshire for 'cottagecore' are the fifth highest in the UK, showing Hampshire residents are some of the keenest to capture the romantic aesthetic of country living.
