A BASINGSTOKE medical practice will relocate in a bid to improve care and meet the demands of its growing patient list.
The Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has approved plans to move Chineham Medical Practice to Jameson House.
Jameson House is located on Lutyens Close which itself adjoins Great Binfields Road in Chineham.
Residents may have already visited the new site as it is currently operating as the vaccination centre for North Hampshire.

Health bosses say that the current medical practice site in Reading Road is no longer large enough and does not meet the needs of the growing population.
The CCG has said the new premises will provide further space to provide care for a growing patient list; improved access for disabled patients; increased space to support a fully integrated health care team; and better room design to allow further privacy for patients.
The increased space will also allow health and social care services such as GPs, nurses, midwives, counsellors and district nurses to all be located in the same building which has not been possible at the current location. This additional space will allow clinical teams to meet regularly and will improve the integration and continuity of care provided.
The CCG has said the intention is to add a further wing to Jameson House and provide first floor space over part of the building.
Internally the building will also be completely gutted and refitted, a lift will also be installed to the upper floor level.
There are no plans at the moment for the current site, the CCG added.

The provision at Jameson House will also provide space for a number of additional services including baby clinics, ultrasound, physiotherapy, joint injections and the ability to carry out some minor procedures. These services, which historically have been carried out in hospital can all be delivered in the new treatment rooms.
Dr Catherine de Mars, Senior Partner at Chineham Medical Practice said: “We are delighted that our proposal to relocate and develop Jameson House has been approved. We are looking forward to having the space to provide additional services and clinics to help support the needs of our patients.”
The practice is due to move into the new premises at the end of 2023.
Patients will be kept updated as the project to relocate moves forward on the Chineham Medical Practice website: chinehamsurgery.co.uk.
