The Anvil's Musication Station will be in Whitchurch on Sunday, June 5 as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Part of Anvil Arts’ Community Engagement Programme, The Musication Station has been running since 2018, and pops up in public spaces, allowing people to drop in as and when it suits them.
It began with investing in a collection of instruments ranging from egg shakers to full electric drum kits, and has since been able to provide smaller instruments, replace broken parts for drum kits, get better headphones, and offer people music theory books to take away with them. People now use Facebook to donate instruments, guitar straps, music books and amps.

Held in various places in the town centre (such as in Festival Place, Basingstoke Sports Centre, and at Top of Town), it runs either a full electric set up where the instruments are laid out with amps and headphones so lots of people can have a go at playing all at once without disturbing each other or an acoustic version.
A spokesperson from Anvil Arts said: “At Anvil Arts we encourage the creative education and development of people of all ages and abilities, and through our Community Engagement Programme, and, in particular, The Musication Station. We hope to provide people with a connection to music that they can take with them for the rest of their lives.”
