AN EATING contest will be held as part of a jubilee party being held in Basingstoke.
Beat the Greek will take place at 5.30pm on Friday, June 3 at Greek Street’s jubilee celebrations being held at Basingstoke Sports and Social Club.

The event, organised by Greek Street catering company which operates at the social club, will kick off at 12 noon with fun for the whole family including a DJ, giant slide, bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, food and a bar.
At 4pm there will be a combat sword fighting performance followed by the eating competition at 5.30pm.
Participants will be challenged to eat a set amount of food within a certain time, and if they complete the challenge, the feast will be free of charge and they will receive a special prize.
At 6.15pm a chilli eating competition will take place.
People are invited to come along and bring a picnic, blanket or chairs to enjoy the celebrations until 9pm in commemoration of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
