A MOBILITY shop in Basingstoke has received a special award to honour their service to mark the jubilee.
Shopmobility Basingstoke provides a wide range of mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and walking aids suitable for all abilities.
They have received a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
A spokesperson said: “Shopmobility is proud to advise notification that we have received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in an announcement from Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations.
“This prestigious award (equal to an MBE) is on behalf of all the Staff, and Volunteers over the past 25 years who have helped make our service the success it is today. Thank you from the Team.”

Shopmobility Basingstoke was conceived in April,1991 in the last few days of Chris Evans’ year as Mayor of Basingstoke.
With the support of the Council’s officer itl took then 6 and a half years before they finally opened in December 1997.
