TWO men have been fined hundreds for getting on a train without paying for a ticket.
The two cases were heard at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on May 24 this year, and resulted in hefty fines.
Nofala Haraji, 28, of Popley Way, Basingstoke, boarded a train at Bramley station on February 7 without paying the fare of £4.60.
Haraji was not present at the court hearing and the case was proved in his absence.
Magistrates fined him £220, along with £160 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge. He was also ordered to pay £4.60 compensation.

Thomas Langley, 35, of Attwood Close, Basingstoke, boarded a train at Basingstoke Railway Station on November 18, last year, without paying the fare of £4.80.
He was also not present at the court hearing and the case was proved in his absence.
Magistrates fined him £220, along with £160 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge. He was also ordered to pay £4.80 compensation.
