A BASINGSTOKE truck driver has been forced to pay more than £800 after driving while 14 tonnes over the permitted vehicle weight limit.
Lamen Ceesay, of Florence Way, drove a Scania truck on the A415 at Newbridge on two occasions on October 1 2021, and again on two occasions on October 7 2021.
The permitted vehicle weight on that road is 18 tonnes, but on each occasion the truck's gross laden weight was 32 tonnes.
At Oxford Magistrates' Court on May 20 2022, Ceesay admitted to the offences and was fined £146 for each of the four counts.
He was additionally ordered to pay a surcharge of £58 and costs of £180, making a total of £822.
