A NEW service has been announced for older people living in Overton.
The Live Well Longer service aims to help older Overton residents stay independent for longer.
The service will supply users with an array of information and support via a drop-in centre, home visits, and signposting to a range of information and service providers.
Anne Philips, chair of Overton Parish Council, said: “LiveWell Longer is not a new idea, in fact many organisations around the country offer a similar service.
“But it is new for Overton Parish Council, and we are very proud to be able to support our more senior citizens with this friendly but confidential service."
The council will be enlisting the volunteer services of Janet to help run the service.
Having been helping the people of Overton for the last 10 years, Janet has a wealth of experience in the field.
The council will also be looking to expand the service and recruit more volunteers over the summer.
If you, or a member of your family, need help with benefits, help around the home, transport for shopping and hospital visits, social activities, safety at home, health & care services and much more, the LiveWell Longer service is the place to go.
Janet and the team can be contacted on 07341 983305 or by emailing livewelllonger@overtonparishcouncil.gov.uk.
