A BASINGSTOKE man has been forced to pay more than £300 by a court after he was caught driving at nearly 30mph over the speed limit in Northampton.
John Robertson, of Headington Close, was driving a Kia t 12.13pm on September 29 2021 along the M1 southbound between Junctions 17 and 16 at Norton.
The variable speed limit was set at 40mph, however the 69-year-old was caught driving at 68mph.
On Tuesday, June 7 at Northampton Magistrates' Court, Robertson pleaded guilty via the single justice procedure and was fined £243.
He must also pay costs of £90, and a £34 surcharge, while his driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
