AN office rental agency is hosting a tabletop sale to raise money to send items to Ukraine.

Absolutely Offices, which is organising the sale and acts as a donation hub for Ukraine, will be selling surplus donations which cannot be sent abroad.

The sale will take place on Saturday, June 18, and will last from 12pm - 4pm.

It will be held in Jameson House.

The money that Absolutely Offices raises will go towards paying for donations to be sent to Ukraine.

Beryl Huntingdon, managing director of Absolutely Offices, explained: “A lot of people were very generous, and they donated a lot of things.

“But a lot of it we haven’t been able to send to Ukraine.

“So, we decided that we’d do a tabletop sale and the proceeds, because it costs over £2,000 to get the lorry to transport it, the proceeds will go towards the next lorries, for which we are collecting donations.”

Beryl said that she had been overwhelmed by the number of donations the company had received from members of the public, as well as the fact that most of the donated items had been new.

She said: “People have been out and bought the nappies, baby food, sleeping bags, all of the things on the list on our website, and just the generosity of the local community has been amazing.”

Using the donations provided, AO has already sent three articulated lorries worth of donations to Ukraine.

Beryl said that she would feel “really pleased” if AO could raise the £2,000 required to send more items to Ukraine.

She also wanted to thank the volunteers who had helped with the company’s first lots of donations, saying: “We couldn’t have done this without the amazing number of volunteers we’ve had, to come and sort, pack, and load lorries.

“I think the most important bit is thanking these volunteers for giving their time.”

Beryl was keen to emphasize that OA will not be the only seller at the sale, as other sellers had also been invited.

She explained: “If anyone wants to have a table, it’s £7.

“They’re not making the donation to Ukraine; they are selling for themselves.

“For £7 they can come and sell, and we think they’ll have quite a big audience.”
