BASINGSTOKE and Deane Borough Council has apologised to residents after a host of bin collections were missed.
Bins stuffed full of waste and recycling which were due to be taken on Friday were left as temperatures soared to highs of 31C.
Some garden waste collections from earlier in the week also remained outstanding.
The council has yet to confirm why the bins weren't emptied, although the sweltering conditions may have cut short contractor Serco's efforts.
Several residents took to social media to vent their frustrations about the refuse service, which many say has been 'under par' for months.
The council has said crews have been sent out this morning to atone for the error and has asked residents to leave their bins out.
A spokesperson said: "We are aware that some residents did not receive their scheduled waste and recycling collections today and that some garden waste collections from earlier in the week are also outstanding.
"The crews will be out in the borough on Saturday, June 18 so if the crew have not emptied the bins in your road, please leave your bin out. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
