A VINTAGE car has been stolen from a vulnerable pensioner in Basingstoke last weekend.
The theft happened outside a property in Stag Hill, Basingstoke.
The distinctive classic white Mercedes-Benz was stolen after a man approached the pensioner and suggested he wanted to purchase the vehicle.
Hampshire police is now appealing for witnesses and information following the report of theft.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said the car was stolen at around 4pm on Saturday, June 18.
The last four digits of its registration plate are 864F.
The spokesperson said: “It was reported that a man approached the owner of the vehicle, who is a vulnerable elderly man, outside his home and suggested he wanted to purchase the vehicle.
“He then took the car for a test drive but did not return.”
Officers have now launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
