Tadley Statin Strollers FC (TSS) have won their first trophy by topping the table in the McCarthy Stone Tournament organised by Bracknell Town Walking Football Club.
The win came in the 60+ group which included Bracknell Town, Cove Rangers, Woodley and Rotherfield.
TSS’ tilt at the title started with a hard fought 0-0 draw with Bracknell Town. In the next game against Rotherfield TSS took an early lead but were pegged back to 1-1 in the last minute.
Up next were Cove Rangers who TSS beat comfortably 3-1 despite going 1-0 down in the first half.
Before the last round of games it was neck and neck between Bracknell Town and TSS for the title.
Bracknell drew their last match against Woodley 0-0 meaning TSS would win the title if they could beat Woodley.
With the pressure on them TSS romped to a 3-0 win and the title with nine points and a 7-2 goal difference.
Top scorer was Nick Hart with four goals.
As well as the trophy the sponsors, McCarthy Stone donated £100 to TSS’ chosen charity of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Service.
