A BASINGSTOKE-BASED recruitment company has won a prestigious award at the National Start Up Awards.
A technology-based recruitment agency, Edison Search was founded by Ben Wallin and Dan Cox in June 2021.
The business has generated more than £1.7 million in revenue since its inception.
The Edison Search team has also expanded, growing from two people to 17.
The agency won the ‘Young Entrepreneur’ award at the South East National Start Up Awards, which took place at Reading University, on June 22.
The awards received over 2,500 applications.
Co-founder Ben Wallin said: “We’re delighted for the team and all our supporters.
“It’s been a terrific 12 months for us as we scale the business.”

Explaining why they chose to base their business in Basingstoke, co-founder Dan Cox added: “There is no other staffing agency like Edison in the area.
“We want to put Basingstoke on the map! We believe that London doesn’t need to be the recruitment mecca it once was.
“Edison has already hired employees who could not consider the London commute due to childcare restrictions and family commitments.
“This is a sustainable recruitment plan for Edison and one that will embed us into the local community for many years to come.”
Edison Search supports the “Industry 4.0 revolution” by synching Internet of Things (IoT) talent with opportunity and is a global partner for IoT recruitment solutions.
The Start Up Awards National Series recognises the achievements of those amazing individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service.
